Apple Watch Not Unlocking

Not getting awarded for something you've tried extremely hard on is disappointing. In this case, I'm talking about completing the Monthly Challenge in your Apple Watch, and you don't get the award for your achievements.

Multiple users have reported an issue with the February Challenge on their Apple Watch. They could not unlock the badge in their Achievements tab even though the task has been completed or surpassed the benchmark.

I have an Apple Watch SE and a 15' 2015 MBP. Initially, everything worked well, but towards the end of last year - around October I think, my watch stopped unlocking the MBP. The option to unlock with the watch was unchecked and selecting it gave the message that the watch must be signed into iCloud to unlock the laptop. The possible reasons for issues like 'Apple Watch not unlocking Mac' can be because both the updates haven't been installed successfully. Or any of the update sections hasn't been implemented actively and it would take time. So you need to start with looking for the latest updates that are available on both the devices. Must have apps macbook air 2019. Apple Watch and Mac computer must be signed with the same iCloud account. If devices are signed with different accounts, the Auto Unlock function will be unavailable. Both devices, Apple Watch and Mac computer, must have a passcode enabled. If one of the devices does not have an enabled passcode, the Auto Unlock function will be unavailable.

So today I updated my OS to 15.3 and opencore it broke the watch. So I updated the watch my phone still not luck. Then I did a reinstall of the os Downloaded from the App Store. Once it was done I was able to unlock the system with the watch again. Even with my 2018 Mac mini my watch is finicky. It is an online Apple watch Activation Lock removal service. You get a full refund if the Apple watch iCloud lock bypass fails, thanks to its fast money-back guarantee. The Apple watch iCloud lock bypass is permanent. It can also bypass Activation Lock on all iPhone modes, and other iOS devices, not only the Apple watch.

Problems with Apple Watch Activity Challenge

Each month, the Apple Watch will provide an activity for you to complete. This isn't a one-day thing, so don't expect to earn your award right away.
So far, I've been asked to burn at least a certain amount of calories, close all activity rings within a certain time, and runs more than x amount of kms.

It's definitely worth getting the Apple Watch since you're motivated to maintain a healthy lifestyle through programs like this. But the opposite effect can happen if you follow through with the challenge and your Apple Watch doesn't award you with a badge for that specific month.

Sometimes I felt like there is no point in completing these Monthly activity challenges if I don't get my badge.

If you're having issues with the Monthly Challenge on your Apple Watch, try the following fixes below.

I didn't get the award after completion

In February, I was tasked to average more than 30 minutes of exercise per day. I went overboard and averaged over 50 minutes per day. But guessed what? Once the challenge was over, it disappeared, and I haven't been awarded.

You may find yourself stuck in this situation as well. Apple usb number pad. It could be another activity that you did but didn't receive a badge for it.

Here is what you can do:

Solution 1: Update your iPhone and Apple Watch

If you haven't updated your iOS device and Apple Watch to the latest firmware yet, please do so. This can be found in the Settings app.

Navigate to General > Software Update.

Once both devices are updated, check back to see if the award has been handed to you.

Solution 2: Restart your Apple Watch

Sometimes this helped to troubleshoot basic issues on your watch. To restart the Apple Watch:

  1. Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider.
  2. Drag the slider to the right.
  3. After your watch is off, press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.

Head back into the Activity app to see if you received your badge.

Solution 3: Wait a few days

Being patience helps. Occasionally, it takes a few days for your badge to show up. Even Apple stated that it could take up to more than a week.

Solution 4: Are there syncing issues?

  1. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app
  2. Go to General > Reset > Reset Sync Settings
  3. Wait a few minutes and check the Activity app for your badges

I hope that helped.

If you don't receive your badge for completing the Monthly Challenge on your Apple Watch, please don't give up. In most cases, the award will show up within the next couple of days after the challenge disappear.

I took a few days break and now I do not have a June monthly challenge

Have you done any workouts on it? It's possible it is based on activity and since you weren't using it, no challenges. You also don't get a challenge half away through the month. You'll have to wait till July 1st to get a new challenge.

How long does it take for a new Apple Watch owner to receive the monthly challenge?

Apple needs about a month's worth of data to determine your challenge. You will probably see a challenge on the 1st of next month. Monthly Challenge is tailored to your activity and that is why it needs data to be able to generate it.

Apple this week released the first developer and public betas of iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4, bringing a major change to the integration between iPhone and Apple Watch. For the first time, you can now use your Apple Watch to unlock your iPhone when you're wearing a face mask. Here's how it works.

There are few things worth noting right off the bat. First and foremost, this requires the latest developer or public betas of iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4. If you don't want to hop on the beta train, we expect iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4 to be released to the general public sometime in the next few months.

Unlock your iPhone with Apple Watch

To enable the Unlock with Apple Watch feature, open the Settings app on your iPhone, then look for the 'Face ID & Passcode' setting. Once you flip this toggle, your Apple Watch will be able to authenticate your iPhone as long as the following conditions are met:

  • Face ID detects a mask
  • Your Apple Watch is nearby
  • Your Apple Watch is on your wrist
  • Your Apple Watch is unlocked
  • Your Apple Watch has a passcode enabled

Another thing to keep in mind here is that if you disable the Apple Watch wrist detection feature, then you will not be able to unlock your iPhone with your Apple Watch.

Once you enable the feature, your iPhone will unlock automatically with your Apple Watch the next time you wear a face mask. When your iPhone unlocks, you'll receive a haptic feedback notification on your Apple Watch telling you that your iPhone was unlocked by the Apple Watch. There is also the option to quickly 'Lock iPhone' directly from that Apple Watch notification.

9to5Mac's Take

The feature is similar to how the Apple Watch unlock feature works on the Mac, but it appears to be both faster and more reliable in my early testing. On the Mac, the Apple Watch can be used for a variety of different authentication tasks, including accessing controls in System Preferences, making Apple Pay purchases, and more.

On the iPhone, Apple Watch unlock is limited solely to unlocking your iPhone while wearing your mask. It does not work if your iPhone can't detect if you're wearing a mask, and it does not work for things like Apple Pay, credit card auto-fill in Safari, or accessing Apple Card features in the Wallet app. In those instances, you'll still have to enter your passcode if you're wearing a mask.

The 'Lock iPhone' button is an important security step as it allows you to re-lock your iPhone if it were to be unlocked by someone else wearing a face mask. It does not appear that this feature is scanning for your face at all. Instead, it is simply looking for a face mask, and when it registers a face mask — whether it's on you or someone else — it will use proximity to unlock with your Apple Watch.

Ultimately, what's important to keep in mind here is that the Unlock with Apple Watch feature is not as secure as unlocking with Face or a passcode, but it is far more convenient.

Despite its limitations, support for unlocking your iPhone with your Apple Watch while wearing a mask is a huge change amid the COVID-19 pandemic. What do you think of the feature? Let us know down in the comments!
